Clay in God's Hands

Beyond all comprehension, Jesus said that if we'd LOVE HIM AND OBEY HIS
TEACHING, that His Father would LOVE US, and that THEY WOULD COME TO US
AND MAKE THEIR HOME WITH US (John 14).

"..In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but
also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.
IF A MAN CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, he will be an instrument for
noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any
good work." 2Timothy 2:20

"..But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this
all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.." 2Corinthians 4:7

Paul STILL calls us clay. That didn't change.

Jesus was ONE with the Father, but chose to serve, submit, lay down His
life—"made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant"—being
just like the CLAY that Father desires His Children to be.

And if we desire to be One of His Own, then we too must choose to take on
the nature of simple clay—just like our Big Brother and King did first.

Maybe part of being KNOWN BY HIM is sharing in common with Jesus a
clay-like nature before God?

Community?

And Just in case you were wondering…"community" really isn't the topic. :-)

Obedience and LOVE are what it's about. If everyone has a heart for obeying the Commands of Jesus, "following the Lamb wherever He goes," and LOVING Him and others whom He lives within more than they love their own lives…then "community" becomes a non-issue! It happens automatically!

It is SURELY not about "gimmicks" or "methods," but about the Body of Truth that Messiah Lived and imparted to us (that is 85% IGNORED and disobeyed by the average Christian, or especially the religious "attender" who has not yet abandoned their hearts and lives and decisions to Him).

Consuming Zeal for the Father's House

If you are looking for real relationships with others in Christ and just don't know where to begin, “Consuming Zeal for the Father’s House” is a good place to start.

You can find all 6+ hours on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/user/allatHisfeet

It's about church as you've probably never known it, but have always known it should be.

Just make sure that, before beginning your journey upstream against the traditions of men, you know what you're getting yourself into. :-)

A Desire to Obey His Ways and Not Compromise His Truth

When talking with others about Jesus and His Kingdom and Ways with others who profess Jesus, often we'll hear the response of, "You're judging me," and "You must think you are the only ones" in retaliation for questioning the direction of someone's life. Of course, "We're the people" has never been the case to those who have known us, but "parachurch and man-created 'ministries' are an unBiblical crutch" could be interpreted that way, if one were willing to be offended. But they really are two very different subjects, of course. We would hope that one's past experiences, or "hurts," or even the poor way we may communicate sometimes don't make anyone miss any truths that are from God. And pointing out the obvious problems with today's Evangelical Christianity…the fruit that is being born…is not being judgmental, or at least we wouldn't have thought so.

If anyone is sincerely seeking God, it doesn't even MATTER where everyone is "at" right now, but rather that we all have a heart for always growing, without shrinking back.

So if you're asking us to say that parachurch organizations are God's Way, as practiced in today's world, we can't say that that is in the Scriptures as such, and we can hardly be expected to be supportive of that! But, to say, "Be very careful how you build," isn't a condemnation of anyone's heart and character. The things of men are a menace to God's Intentions, and only slow the pace and are placebos for Reality. That's all.

So if you're offended by anything you read here, remember it's not about YOU that we are speaking! We aren't saying you're a heretic. We do think you may be highly tempted, for instance, to family idolatry as a substitute for God's Intention for you life and your family's, where YOU'LL stay in "control" with "heavy handed leadership"—lack of submission to the other Saints, and individualism rather than "contending as ONE Man for the Faith" "joined and knit together by every supporting ligament" and "when you've seen him, you've seen me" and "a hundred mothers, brothers, sisters, children" (rather than biological "after the flesh" limits to melting into Life). OF COURSE this may be your temptation, among others. We are simply saying, "Don't do that. It is wrong and highly limiting to your future and that of your family! Trust! 'Submit to one another.' 'Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the Law of Christ.' 'Confess your sins one to another.' 'Admonish one another daily, or you WILL be hardened and deceived!' Be willing to see 'your children' (who are only on loan from God…they're really HIS children, of course) as part of others lives, and others as part of your life. Let your walls down!"

And OF COURSE we're not going to glad-hand every statement anyone makes about their direction in life, since we've seen it tear up people all over the world. Call that what you want, but if we didn't care we would just pat you on the back and said,"Hallelujah, brother. Praise the Lord. How precious. Let's 'fellowship'!" That would be been MUCH easier for everyone, and that "path of least resistance" is highly popular because it's easy.

So, condemn us for caring enough to take a chance, but you can't condemn us for being hypocritical glad-handers that ignore what will rob our futures, in order to be happy campers.

Of course there are counterfeits in abundance "out there" and all of that. So be sure that you are genuinely desirous of the Real thing even if it doesn't allow you to "control" what you desire to control. That kind of thinking can be a protection mechanism from your prior bad experiences. But don't mistake that for the Ways of God and "freedom." To take up one's cross means abandonment, not control.

So the crux of the issue is, if your life is about "I want the freedom of being in control," God IS opposed to that theme, and so we will be, too, without insulting YOU in any way, but because it is a recipe for loneliness and separateness and deception for you and for your children, and for their children, and we don't want that for you!

We've encountered many over the years who say, "I'm of Jesus," and many we know have been pleasantly surprised that letting their guards down has resulted in the Holy synergy of FAR MORE Life, not less.

So please don't be offended If we do not embrace those themes of "I'm okay, you're okay." Don't take personally what was not intended to be so taken. YOU are not the "enemy," but unTruth in perspective and decisions and belief that can rob you and your children of His Calling IS surely a sworn enemy and not to be taken lightly.

So again, we are not questioning the desire or sincerity of those who wear His name. But the root issues written about above are of supreme importance if we are to inherit the Future He intends. A desire to obey His ways and not compromise His truth…that's about all that anyone…we or you or anyone…can bring to the Table, and even that is by Grace alone.

God Weeps Over Broken Walls

God GRIEVES (Nehemiah, a type of the Holy Spirit, if the Hebrew word is meaningful!) over walls torn down. He weeps over walls not built well to protect His People and the investment He has. The Temple was restored, but the WALLS were not - and GOD (and a man of God) WEPT.

Love?

"Some do not honestly love --
but rather love the idea of being loved.
True love is not of such bestial laws."

A Poem about God's House

How beautiful is Your House, oh Lord
How beautiful are her halls
In her I see all Your riches and Love
In her I find Your Peace and Presence
Glorious are those who dwell there
More blessed than all the Kings of the earth
Heaven visits His People there
They are not alone who put their trust in You
In their faces I see the King
In their presence I know His Love

I dwelt there for a while
Not realizing how beautiful and secure were her walls
Til I traveled out to another land
And longed to return
Truly all the reports of her majesty are right
There is none who can compare with her
Heaven meets Earth there
The King sits on His Throne
He cares for all their needs
He guides them with His own Hand
He is patient as He tends His flock
Leading them gently
Keeping them safe

How longingly I look to the hills and wish to return
How foolish I was to not cherish her as she deserved

Behold, you citizens of Heaven
Those who dwell in Zion and in Safety
May your praises be heard throughout the world
For what He has done for you
May your praises be heard in Heaven for how He has loved you
May you cherish each moment of your riches
and let not one word be missed that He whispers into your ears

All at His feet - Who we are

We never needed a "name" since we are not an organization of any kind and are "nothing" more than a bunch of friends, of every walk of life and education and professional level and trade, and age. If you had a bunch of friends that you went hiking with and skiing with often, would you need a "name" for them? Of course not. We don't have any "membership" and never have had any "membership" in the over-20-years we've been here. If a person is devoted to following Jesus with all their hearts, they are our friend and family, whether they live in Zionsville or Greenwood or Des Moines or Bombay.

We have no staff or salary or any such thing. We have no "building" or "service times" -- although we have many wonderful relationships with those who do have all of those things. It's not a hindrance or obstacle. The "issue" is whether Jesus is Lord, not anything "external" or such silliness as that. We are in weekly contact with many, many hundreds (often a couple thousand) of folks from every denomination and background imaginable. We have no barriers or prejudices against anyone who is in love with Jesus and wants to obey Him. There are wonderful true-hearted Christians in every religious group.

Those who are in our close sphere of relationships in this city come from many different backgrounds as well. Folks we are close to simply want to "live" Christianity (read Acts 2:42-47 and 1Corinthians, chapter 12) rather than read about it once a week. And, consequently, the "expression" of Life is not "meeting-based" or "clergy-based" -- but rather as Jesus said, "a hundred mothers, brothers, and sisters" living for Jesus daily, in the workplaces and neighborhoods. Just simply people who love Jesus and each other, who choose for themselves and families, to try to love and serve God, each other, and neighbors and co-workers in real ways, every day.

The world's (and religious world's) well-known statistics of "50% divorce rate" and "75% of their children with lives destroyed" (Gallop, Barna, Wilkerson, Graham, Jakes -- all with such quotes) -- this is just not acceptable, if Jesus is involved. He died, and arose, to "overcome the works of the devil" and destroy "the gates of Hell" -- not to be an emotional pacifier or cultural icon. He wants to deliver everyone from sin and death. Jesus is raised from the dead and well-able to do so, if we are desirous of listening to Him and His Word, and changing. Of course when some decide not to be part of the "attendance-based" cultural religious world (as opposed to an Acts 2:36-47 and 1Corinthians 12 Life-relationship-based church), then problems arise.

There are MANY good people in the religious system -- that's just the pont. They deserve every opportunity to enjoy the truths of the Bible and Teachings of Jesus with those around them, rather than unBiblical ritual, hierarchy, and powerless superstition that has often passed for Christianity since the dark ages. It's really OKAY to be honest with what the BIBLE says about Christianity (read again, if you would, 1Cor.12 and Acts 2:36-47, and see if you have ever heard of churches living like that, without listening to the excuses for why "it doesn't apply to us" :) ) There seems to be automatic libel and defamation thrown at anyone who WANTS to believe and live what they Bible says, and doesn't "conform to the patterns of the world" (Romans 12:1-2) -- whether religious "patterns of the world," or otherwise.

No one here claims to be anyone, or even WANTS anything from anyone. It's just folks wanting to peacefully love Jesus, and enjoy each other, as in Acts 2:36-47 and 1Cor.12. It's simple and Biblical. No show, no budget, no ritual, no hierarchy or staff, no titles, no bosses, no positions other than everyone loving Jesus as best they can. Just ordinary people with no pretense or ambition for anything other than a simple love of Jesus. And, as I said, folks all over the world from every background apparently have the same heart for "Just Jesus, pure and simple, without pomp and circumstance, bells and whistles, bubble gum, or bailing wire, or clergy or budgets, or rules, nor any dress-up for a show. Just the quality of Life of Jesus, the King of Glory, as best we can. Helping each other, our children, our children's children, and anyone else interested, as best we can. Just love and sacrifice as best we can, for the short lives we have." Not real complicated. :)
